Today, I have been a vegan for 48 months or since 2011 I have saved 808 animals; 780 lbs of meat I didn’t eat; 6, 435 lbs of CO2 not released into the atmosphere and so much more and that’s just me. I measured this on the vegetarian calculator.
As I write this I realize that in about 10 days I will have been a vegan for 4 years. In 4 years I have not eaten any animals to the best of my knowledge – this is huge and time for a celebration.
I started a vegan lifestyle at age 54 when I realized I had a choice to write a story of ill health and a feeling of no answers and no control of my life to one of excellent health, happiness and total control. This epiphany happened in front of a doctor as we talked about a hysterectomy. I didn’t like this idea at all and felt helpless but something struck me at that moment and it was “This is not my story. I don’t see myself a victim to ill health to the point of major surgery because something was growing in me”.
I never thought it would be just weeks later when I saw a documentary called The Last Heart Attack by Dr. Sanjay Gupta featuring Bill Clinton and Dr. Esselstyn that it would be the very day that my husband and I opened the cupboards, tossed almost everything and started again at the beginning.
Today, my husband and I enjoy an outstanding active lifestyle and we are thrilled to share our journey with you to inspire, inform and motivate others that if we can do it you can do it too and you really should. Veganism is a lifestyle game changer that opens your eyes to the truths that have been holding you back in many areas of your life. Once you truly set the discipline of vegan in motion it’s hard to believe you ever lived another way, and you wish everyone would do this.
Everyone was saying to me, including strangers, you’re glowing what are you doing?? That’s when I decided to start my Go For Glow Facebook page because that is what a vegan lifestyle does for you .. it heals you; teaches you; and makes you glow.
I am now 58 years younger with my first book, Fork It Keys to Amazing Health coming out soon and I can’t tell you enough that choosing a plant based lifestyle will be the most rewarding solid foundation to your freedom that you’ve ever found. The profound results include your own awakening and awareness to create a lifestyle you desire and one that is much kinder and softer to the animals, nature itself and ultimately to you so you can live a healthy and happy life.
